My research addresses the role of evolutionary theory, and especially cultural evolution, in explaining religion, morality, and norms in general. In 2014 I joined the philosophy department at Purdue University as a member of the Building Sustainable Communities cluster hire, and in that capacity I apply theories of norm evolution and norm psychology to norms of sustainability. Many of my projects have an empirical component, while others are purely conceptual.
