CV

My research addresses the role of evolutionary theory in explanations of human cognition and behavior, especially with regard to morality, religion and cooperation in general. More specifically, I'm interested in the role of cultural evolution in shaping moral psychology, the psychology of religion, and the nature of the relationship between them.

I joined Purdue as a member of the Building Sustainable Communities cluster hire, and in that capacity I plan to apply knowledge of norm psychology and norm evolution to the study of sustainable practices and policies.

Many of my projects are purely conceptual, or theoretical, but I've also been involved in a number of empirical projects, some of which remain ongoing.
